THE PROJECT
We are an established and growing community of Traditional Catholics
who share one uniting factor: our love for the Traditional Latin Mass.
We have never had a church of our own and are instead hosted in various churches belonging to other communities. Whilst there are other churches in quite close proximity who also celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass with permission of the bishop, priests get moved, liturgical schedules have to accommodate ourselves alongside many other competing languages and rites, and our experiences from 15 years of itinerancy has led the community into accepting that a need has arisen for a permanent home of own.

What is our goal?
To purchase or lease a modern building which is approximately 250-500sqm with parking for around 50+ cars within a 10 mile radius of Bedford.
We would like hall or community centre that could be used for teas and coffees after Holy Mass, and ideally there would be a suitable building on the site for use as a presbytery
We will consider religious buildings from any denomination or religion in the Bedford area.
We are also looking at industrial portal framed warehouses that are heated, and agricultural / equestrian buildings that have good prospects for conversion.
Extra benefits would include: a pipe organ, existing ecclesiastical features such as fonts, tabernacles, reredos, confessionals, an altar, a choir loft, PA system, working heating and ventilation, etc.
What is our financial target?
A newly built traditional church on a green field site could cost £3,000,000 to build!
Our initial target is £1,000,000 which we believe will enable us to buy a suitable Church to accommodate our community for many years to come.
How much have you raised so far?
We started accepting donations in November 2025 and are already well into five figures, but still a long way from £1,000,000.

Chaplain to the Gregorian Chaplaincy in the Northampton diocese, Bedford
Fr. Armand Demalleray, FSSP
French-born (1971) British author Armand de Malleray grew up in the Loire Valley in a large Catholic family. He left France in 1994 after completing a Master’s Degree in Modern Literature at the Sorbonne in Paris. He taught French at the military academy in Budapest, Hungary, before joining the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter in Bavaria, where he was ordained a priest in 2001. His first priestly assignment was in London, Southwark Archdiocese (UK). He served in England since, apart from five years in Switzerland as General Secretary of his Fraternity. Since 2008, he has been the editor of Dowry, the quarterly magazine of his Fraternity in the UK & Ireland.
Fr de Malleray has been chaplain to the international Juventutem youth movement since its inception in 2004 and has led delegations to World Youth Days in Germany, Australia, Spain, Poland, and Portugal. He also was general chaplain for a dozen years of the Confraternity of St Peter, his Fraternity’s international prayer-network for priestly vocations numbering over ten thousand members. From 2015 to 2023, he was the rector at St Mary’s Shrine in Warrington, Liverpool Archdiocese, and since then is chaplain to the Gregorian Chaplaincy in the Northampton diocese, Bedford. He oversees the apostolate of his Fraternity in England and promotes vocations to the priesthood and to the religious life.
